The Cartoons...Samia Younis

I, as a Muslim, am disgusted with what these mobs are doing inretaliation to the cartoons of the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh).I condemn the cartoons which were produced as it is offensive toMuslims all over the globe, as i think we can still our exercisefreedom of speech without being insolent, but i think we can show ourdisapproval without having to go to extreme measures of burning downbuildings and attacking other religious groups etc.If i remember rightly the Prophet taught his people to showforgiveness, tolerance, patience and other good virtues when facedwith problems. Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) was mocked throughout hislifetime, and people did all kinds of things to him which was a lotworse than drawing a few pathetic cartoons to represent 'freedom ofspeech.'A woman used to throw rubbish at the Prophet every time he walked pasther house but he did not go round ready to kill her. Instead heignored her and actually enquired about her when he walked past herhouse and there was no rubbish thrown at him, later to discover shewas ill and he looked after her.I think these mobs should calm down, take a step back and think aboutwhat the Prophet would have done if he was faced with this and try tospend more time having civil debates so others can understand Islambetter, which would be of more use then acting violently which isexactly how the cartoons and other pieces of media often portrayMuslims as.
